«Si, ok, you talk and pontificate (sic), but if I may be so bold: what the hell do you want from us?»
This question was asked to me by a friend a few days ago and triggered two reactions in me.
First, it drew first applause and then a hug for the learned quote from Augusto-Mario Brega in Carlo Verdone’s film Borotalco.
Then it made me realize that before talking about others, I had to give more reasons about us.
So here it is, what LLiquida wants not from you but from itself, first of all.
We’ve put it down in the form of 10 bullets, given that in the past this formula of the decalog had some success.
- We don’t sell boats (or accessories or nautical services), we broaden horizons. Our job is to ensure that a boat is not just a product, but a symbol. Of freedom, of elegance, of choice.
- Boating is not (only) luxury. Telling the story of the sea means making it desirable, not distant. We oppose the exclusive and unattainable image of the boat for the few.
- Marketing is not fluff: it’s your megaphone. If you don’t tell your identity, someone else will. And, often, they’ll do it badly.
- Speaking difficultly is not speaking well. Real communication is making the complex simple, not complicating the simple.
- No strategy works without truth. Shortcuts sell little and cost dearly. We build value, not illusions.
- Whoever believes that boating doesn’t need communication is already late. Today, if you don’t tell your story well, you disappear. And if you disappear, you don’t sell.
- We know how to do it, because we’ve been there. Every piece of advice we give comes from lived experiences, mistakes made, and hard-earned successes.
- Irony is a form of respect for the intelligence of others. We don’t want to please everyone. We want to make those who listen to us think.
- Data matters. But so does tone. Analysis is fundamental. But the voice with which you speak is what makes you recognizable.
- Our job is to tell true stories, with style. Because in boating, as in life, the journey is as important as the destination. And we are here to help you tell it.
If you find yourself in even just one of these lines, perhaps you’re not just reading: you’re looking for a different way to communicate. We are here for that. The manifesto is our starting point. The next step—the one that truly matters—we take together.
